The End of May

Patio plants are surviving and looking good.
Tomatoes are absolutely flourishing! Can't wait for a swiss cheese and
tomoato sandwich!

Roses are bearing their beauty day by day.

One Man Band

I've been watching James Taylor's PBS special tonight titled "One Man Band".

My kids were raised on Peter, Paul and Mary, John Denver and James Taylor.

We just can't be a "One Man Band". We all need each other.

Luminaria Ceremony

"Light One Candle..."

Last night we lit candles for our family and friends who have been affected/inflicted with cancer of any kind.

We took a walk around the track that was lit only by luminary bags made by family, friends and co-workers of those who fight and have fought the battle with Cancer.

I Will Remember You...

Relay For Life

I participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life today. It is a 24 hour event where a member from your team is on the track walking at all times. Our team was comprised of AmeriCorps members. The good news is we had a very inspiring, moving day. The bad news is, it was 99 degrees outside. I stayed for 12 hours today and will go back in the morning for another couple of hours and the closing ceremonies.

The most moving part of the day was the Survivor/Caretaker lap. I walked as a caretaker in memory of my Daddy.

Living a "Co-op"erative Life

I joined the Lake County Community Co-Op tonight.

The voice on the other end of the phone was encouraging and affirming. Every time I made a

mistake he covered it with grace.

Being mindful of minimizing my carbon footprint, I am buying locally, supporting local organic growers,
and reducing waste by only buying what my family will actually eat.

Mother's Day Joy

Lizzie and Trey treated us to Mother's Day Brunch at the Tallman Hotel. We had a table in the garden right next to the waterfall.
Emily and Arthur joined us. They will be leaving for San Diego tomorrow.

Along with the beautiful sound of the outdoor pond there was live music from a band called "Blue Collar".

It was a very good morning!

Facial Hair

I think Jordan was feeling a little

left behind in the previous

post. He thought it was time for some

facial hair.

You might say it's as soft as "silk"!

The "Men"

Just last month these boys (men) were head to head. Tyler took a leap in

growth. I should have seen it coming. He started eating more than I could buy.

He is sleeping a lot! Add to this the voice change and voila! you have a man!

Phase Two

If you've been following along, Al and Tyler made the path today that leads

through the side yard. The pavers are in and just have to be backfilled and

leveled.

I can't wait to see the finished job!

A Good Day

Ahh, it's been a good day...
I was able to find a super bargain on drapery panels. The light
doesn't do them justice. If you could only sit in our living room with the light gently streaming through the windows while the music is softly playing and our chicken pot pies
are simmering in the oven...Ahhh



Yummy individual chicken pot pies full of chicken and vegetables.

I also made freezer strawberry jam today.

All in all ~~ it was a Good Day :-)
