Little Rabbit

While taking care of Jenny's children today Caleb brought me a couple of library books to read. I now have some new favorites. We read "Little Rabbit" books and became lost in the illustrations. I decided that I need to add these books to my bookshelf to read over and over. Thank you Caleb!

Written in Stone (cement)

Tyler and Jordan had a great time writing their names in our newly poured patio today. The yard is really looking pretty, especially in the late afternoon when the sun filters through the trees. Next up--the fence, sod and granite pavers.

"Calm" before...

We are seeing many changes lately. Our backyard has gone from plain to a construction zone. Sometimes it's hard to keep our eyes on what lies ahead. These two plants are really hanging in there. I wish I was as hardy sometimes! Just wait until tomorrow! The cement mixer shows up along with the pump and Robert who knows just how to coordinate the whole thing. I'll see you tomorrow :-)

Tyler's Haircut

Tyler got a hair cut today in preparation for Lizzie's wedding. I told him he looks like a teenager now!

Valet Parking

Just in case you are worried there won't be any parking at the wedding, we've got it all under control! Here is Lance's dad Henry on his tractor clearing out our front yard.

He is actually clearing the way for the sod to be placed. We had a great time with him. He even stayed for dinner!

Now That's a Friend

We had some definite set backs this weekend with landscaping. In the process of digging trenches for our sprinkler system our workers hit a couple of pipes :-(

Needless to say we had some plumbing problems! Our good friend Lance came on his lunch hour from Safeway to try to fix it, came after work and stayed till 10:00 p.m. and then arrived at 7:00 this morning while we were still sleeping. I now believe in the tooth fairy, Santa Claus and our friend Lance.

Oh No!!

Oh No Puppy! What have you done? What a difference a few months makes! She used to be so sweet and "loving" with her baby. Now look!

Wedding Landscaping

We had a crew over today to start the process of landscaping. I know it doesn't look like it now but we will have a pretty yard by the time September 1st rolls around! I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Popsicles

The grandkids came over for pizza and popsicles tonight. Jenny went grocery shopping and then came back to take the boys to the library. I got to have the girls all to myself! They are so cute. Gracie is fearless with our dog. She bent down at eye level and was rewarded with a big lick! She promptly said "No Dog!"

Gardening

We've been doing a lot of gardening lately trying to dress up the outside of our home. Last night while Al and Tyler were at the movies I planted this little area in the front of the house. The guy at the nursery suggested cocoa mulch to keep the neighborhood cats away. It smells just like chocolate so it wouldn't keep me away! Now I just have to keep the earwigs away. They are eating all the new blossoms and leaving us with greenery.

Surgery and Transformers

Tyler had four teeth pulled today in preparation for his braces. He had a hard time with the anesthesia but other than that everything went great. Two hours after we arrived home he was eating a major soft diet feast and acting as if nothing had happened!

The best part about this is his teeth came out easily with no stitches needed. This will make healing less complicated and he can have his spacers put in for his braces right away before the teeth migrate too much.

Al and Tyler are at the movies right now watching Transformers. Puppy and I are going to plant some flowers when the sun leaves the front of the house. I'm way too tired to go watch a movie!

Home Again

Tyler returned from his vacation this morning. He really misses Blake! He had a great time visiting his sisters. When we went to pick him up at the airport we found out his plane was going to be 10 minutes early. No problem, we allowed ourselves plenty of time. What made me nervous was the line to go through security. It was so long that it went from the connector between the parking garage and the terminal! By the time I got through security he had just arrived and was sitting at the gate with one of the flight attendants. Next time he flies alone I will leave a day early to pick him up :-)

Tyler

Tyler left today for a five day trip to San Diego to spend time with Emily, Lizzie, Trey and Blake. I hope he has a great time! He will be flying back (alone) Tuesday morning.

Better Picture

Emy took a better picture with her camera today so you can see the change in the wall where the stone "stage" used to be.
