"I don't have time..."

How many times have you said to yourself, or out loud, "I don't have time
to...."
Yesterday I tried a new fast acting hair color. (Oh, I'm sorry...you thought this
was my real hair color!)
The hair color had to sit for 5 minutes. In that 5 minutes I transferred laundry
from the washer to the dryer, emptied the dishwasher AND had time
to re-wash two pans that didn't come clean the first time around.
So~~do we have time???

Alabaster

This week marks our 37th Wedding Anniversary.
I did some research to discover the significance of this milestone.
It seems that Alabaster is the stone that signifies this year.
Alabaster is distinguished by hardness. On the soft side of the scale it is
called gypsum. Gypsum is very soft--easily scratched by the finger nail.
Sort of like the new bride. One little remark can send her flying back to her
parent's home!
On the hard side, alabaster is Calcite--too hard to scratch, yet yields to a knife.
Hmm...tough skin from many years of living, but can still be molded by trials, counseling and
the Holy Spirit.
Happy Anniversary Honey :-)

Hi Ho, Hi Ho

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to work I go!
I returned to work today. I am an Americorps tutor at our local
middle school. In the morning I will tutor Algebra and in the afternoon, Reading.
In between ~~ Yard Duty (Target Practice is what it feels like)

So, here I am back at work. Hmm...y=mx+b
Just click your ruby slippers three times and repeat after me...

Remember

Oh Yes, there's no place like home. After I visited with my family this
weekend I just had to return home. You know the place...Sewing, cooking, gardening, reading, rolling down the yard in a barrel, watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday night.

Learning how to sew on Grandma's sewing machine. Embroidering the days of the week on
dish towels. Using Ivory Soap, Bactine and hanging your clothes out to dry.

Yes, We've come a long way. But not too far. We still love to sit together and talk. We value family. We love to talk about the newest little one and what they can do.
We talk about the oldest and what they have accomplished.

Thank you Daddy. You did well.

A Good Day

We went out to visit with Mom before Mike and Darla left
for the Bay Area. We had a great visit. Mom is doing really well.
We laughed and told stories on each other for Darla's benefit.
I'm sure she has heard Mike's version of all the stories but
now she knows the truth!!

FamilyTies

Behold...The Patriarch
Forget the fact that he is surrounded by wine bottles
Focus on the joy that surrounds him.
Why?? His new wife Darla :-)

Here we are--eating as any good Italian family would...conversation, forks raised to our mouths,
eyes looking to the next conversation...
Dalleen and Papa sharing a happy moment

Jordan, just soaking it all in...

Welcome Darla!!

Mike and Darla came for the "official" family meet tonight!
Oh my ~~ I couldn't have ordered a better sister-in-law.
It seems she has been in our family forever.
Welcome Darla!
More pics to follow :-)
