Socks???

I called my "go to gal" for knitting tonight to get some advice on ribbing. For those of you who knit, ribbing is second nature; for those of you who don't, ribbing is the cuff and hem adornment on your hats and socks. Please don't take this for granted! Monica and I shared our woes over ribbing :-(

It is part math, part pattern recognition and mostly--determination!

The next time you buy a pair of socks, or a great hat--send up a prayer for the one who made it :-)

Guest Book

If you come to our house I will ask you to sign our guest book. If you are a repeat visitor...well, you get to sign again, and again...

I hope you will sign over, and over and over again...I want you to feel welcome. Come once, twice, many times. Be fair warned, one time you are a visitor...after that, you get to clear the dishes, load the dishwasher...

We had a great visit with Chris, Carol, Alyssa and Kiah today. The only problem was our "baby" Bella who is sooo jealous of Kiah!
Al barbequed tri-tip for us and we had salad, baked potatoes, asparagus and garlic bread to go with it. Yum!
If it wasn't such a long drive, I wish they could come every Saturday for a visit :-)

Booster Club

We had our first Booster Club meeting this evening. Our mascot is the Eagle. Just look at all these eagles gathered together. There are more birds here than there were parents gathered for the meeting!

Our focus is our teachers. We want to feed them, give them breaks, encourage them in the day-to-day routine, celebrate them in the life altering events (babies are on their way in the spring summer) and just generally love them. Trouble is...only two parents showed up for the first meeting! That's o.k. We will continue with our plan to honor our teachers. We have all kinds of things planned to let our teachers know we appreciate them!

Tea Time

Celestial Seasonings has a line of new teas for the holidays. I made a cup of the "Sugar Cookie" tea tonight after dinner. I popped in an old movie and just relaxed with my cup of tea after a long day. I had 18 kids in the after-school program today :-}

My suggestion for this tea is to take your water all the way to boiling and let it steep for at least five minutes (or use two tea bags) to really get the full flavor.

Welcome Home

Chris, Carol and Kiah came up for a visit today. Carol and I went to the Christmas Faire at the English Tea Inn. We had such a good time picking out pretty things to buy. When we arrived home, Al had a yummy dinner waiting for us! Kiah really loves salad with ranch dressing. Right before they left for home Kiah climbed up in Tyler's lap for some computer time :-) It was such a good day!

Unforgettable

Just look at the progression of "happy times" in these pictures. You will have to agree with me, each one is unforgettable! There is never a dull moment in this family. We paint, travel, play, eat, and just generally love each other while all this goes on. Sure, we have our hard times, but hey, we're family :-)

The boys paint the back porch and each other! Tyler and Blake at Sea World
Oh my, the music isn't working Daddy. That's o.k. I just want to marry Willard.
Happy Guests...Unforgettable
