Tyler's Baptism

Tyler was baptized today. I don't know what he said to make Pastor Mark laugh, but it must have been good. Wouldn't you know it? As soon as he came up out of the water my camera battery went dead! My friend was sitting in the front row and she said she was able to get a couple of pictures on her camera so I will share those when I get them.

From My Heart to Yours

I've been following a heart healthy diet recently (hospital bills are a great motivator!)
Tonight I made chicken in parchment paper. I placed a boneless, skinless chicken breast on a circle of parchment paper (sprayed with "butter" spray),
placed dried cranberries, garlic and a mixture of spices over the top. I squeezed half a lemon over each chicken breast and then folded them up and crimped the sides. They baked on a cookie sheet for 35 minutes at 350*. Yummy in our tummies :-)

Wilderness Wanderings

Everyone has a different idea of "wilderness". This picture shows a rather serene setting that I'm sure we'd all like to visit. We've been wandering in a different sort of wilderness these past months. Our Guide reminds us that even though we don't know the way, we have everything we need for our journey. At this point, we aren't even sure of our destination! Every day brings a new twist or turn on the trail that we didn't know was there. We have tried to blaze our own path, only to throw our hands up in frustration. To us, the answer is simple~~all we need is a job for Al. To God, there is more to it than that. So, we wait~~trying to stay on the path, all the while learning to trust that the journey, as well as the destination, will be for our good and His glory.

Cravings

Almost all the teachers at our school are expecting babies in the next 3-8 months. Those of us who are either too old, male or otherwise are completely outnumbered! Jenny and I have been blogging on different food tastes and this brings me to cravings. I already posted on her blog how I used to eat bologna, peanut butter and mayo sandwiches on sourdough while pregnant. I know Jenny craved ice. How about all of you? One theory is the cravings make up for what our body is lacking. Looking at my craving, I guess I was lacking fat, empty calories and bad cholesterol :-)

Snacktime

Tyler is such a great "brother". He willingly shares his snacks with Bella. Trouble is she really thinks she deserves these snacks. She doesn't have to do tricks or any such dog nonsense. She just shows up for snacktime!

Craft Time

We went back to school today. Most of the kids seemed really happy to be back. A couple of them thought maybe they were "sick" and should call Mom. Funny how those "sicknesses" disappeared by lunch time :-)
I realized today that I could have (should have) spent some time during the break to plan some craft activities for the after school kids. There are many holidays coming up that just naturally lend themselves to crafting. O.K. all you moms and former teachers--share those ideas!!

Tyler

We've had a great Christmas vacation with Tyler. I see him everyday at school but I have to share him with 40 other students!

Here he is Christmas Eve at Emy's house looking quite handsome and grown up.

And here he is at the Del Mar Hotel in Coronado. This beautiful tree is in their lobby.

One last shot of Ty outside the hotel. (Sorry Ty, the sun was in your eyes!)
